10 Songs That Lead Me to the Throne

Hello friends,

I hope that you each had an amazing weekend & a Happy Monday. My day was productive, blessed & filled with music. I’ve been listening to my favorite praise & worship songs for most of the day and I wanted to share some of them with you. These are the songs that place me before the throne and usher me into His presence. If you are looking for some beautiful songs to play during your time with the King, check these out.

1. The More I Seek You – Steffany (Frizzell) Gretzinger

“The More I Seek You” is one of the most touching songs I’ve ever heard. It’s lyrics are about having a real intimate relationship with God, and Steffany Gretzinger’s love for God pours out all over this song.

2. Love Medley – God’s Chosen

“Love Medley” is a compilation of a few of my absolute favorite gospel songs about the true love God offers. And the ladies of God’s Chosen sing the song with such meaning in their voices. It’s almost impossible to not want to worship with them.

3.  The Anthem – Planetshakers

“The Anthem” is just what the title implies. It’s a true anthem of Jesus’ supreme power as the One who conquered the grave & made eternal life possible for us. “Death could not hold you down/You are the risen King/Seated in majesty/You are the risen King” is my favorite line in the song.

4. Alpha & Omega – Israel & New Breed

If you haven’t heard this song, y0u might live under a rock! 🙂 Just kidding, but it’s a very popular worship song for good reason. Israel is an anointed worship leader & it’s evident every time he leads a song. “Alpha & Omega” is a beautiful song uplifting our God because He is worthy of all the praise. The song is also an anthem of sorts; an anthem for people all over the world to fall to their knees and worship our Father.

5. Forever – Jaye Thomas

Jaye Thomas is a phenomenal worship leader/intercessory missionary at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City. Jaye is so anointed and he truly lives to glorify God. This is the 5-minute version of “Forever,” but Jaye sings this song for up to 20 minutes at IHOP in their prayer room. This song stirs my soul in a beautiful way. Also, check out Jaye’s testimony if you get a second.

6. Great & Mighty – Byron Cage

I really don’t have too many words for this song, but the first time I heard it sang it moved me to tears. I was in church trying to hold it together. This song is so simple but it declares the greatness of our God! “Great and Mighty is our Savior!” O/

7. Only You are Holy/Agnus Dei – covered by many but my favorite is Donnie McClurkin

“Only You are Holy/Agnus Dei” are two beautiful songs that lead me to worship. I don’t know what happens when I sing these songs, but I am so enthralled by the reality of who Jesus is. His magnificence overtakes me and I become complete engrossed in His spirit. These songs are amazing.

8. 10,000 Reasons  – Matt Redman

“10,000 Reasons” is my favorite song by Matt Redman. It’s featured on the Passion 2012 cd and it reminds me to bless the Lord, even with my soul.

9. Wonderful – Christy Nockels

Christy Nockels is a woman whose heart for Christ truly shines through. I love “Wonderful” because she sings about how truly amazing our God is and how she wants her life to shine for Him. This is a beautiful song & Christy truly ministers through it.

10. Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus – Hillsong

“Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” is a sweet hymn that I pray during my prayer time. I can sing this little song to myself and be reminded that nothing in this world compares to my Savior.

I hope that these selections bless you & add something special to your praise & worship time with Christ. If you have any songs that you’d like to recommend, paste them below in the comment box. As you can see, I listen to a wide range of Christian music so don’t be shy ;).

Thanks for reading & blessings,

Brittany

  1. I’m rather late, but…
I love Gateway Worship. Their worship is just intense and amazing. These recommendations are songs I can’t even listen to in public; they’ll just crack me open and it’s impossible to keep my face free of tears.
    1. O The Blood (Ugh, simply reflecting on the weight of the truth in those lyrics sets me off.)
    2. We Cry Out
    3. Glorify You Alone
    4. Alabaster Jar
    5. God Be Praised
    – I know you’ve heard Revelation Song, but I’ll still put it in there. The first Gateway Worship (& Kari Jobe, at that) song I ever heard.
